Boost, in a Nutshell

Who we are:

We are a boutique “smart” school, encouraging students in grades 4-12 to develop critical thinking skills and to pursue their personal strengths and talents via our individual learning pathways. An 8 to 1 student to staff ration and small class sizes help to ensure that your child develops a strong rapport with his/her teacher and receives as much support as possible to be successful in our program.

Fee Structure:

Tuition for Boost Academy (face-to-face instruction) is $10,000 for the year, payable as $1000 to secure your space (due upon acceptance) and 3 payments of $3000/term (due mid-August, November, and February). The Boost Digital (exclusively virtual) fee is $6000 for the year, payable as $900 (payable upon acceptance), and 3 payments of $1700 (due mid-July, November, and March). Alternative payment plans may be negotiated with our accounts department as necessary.

All-Inclusive:

We provide both face-to-face and online delivery of curriculum; emotional support services; and scheduled one-on-one tutoring. Unlike most schools that charge for additional tutoring, we are committed to providing all the time needed to ensure that your child understands the curriculum and is able to keep up with the workload. Rather than wearing a uniform, students dress modestly and comfortably so that they can express their individuality and more easily play outside during breaks.

Early Graduation Potential:

Our individualized learning pathways allow highly motivated students to work through the curriculum at a faster pace, meaning that high school students may be able to graduate early. We offer online collegiate programs through our curriculum partnerships for students who graduate early but may not be ready to attend college or university. In some instances, students may earn college credits while still enrolled in our high school program.

Location and Hours of Operation:

Boost Academy is located at 51 Montrose Ave. North (Otherwise known as Sears’ Hill), Nassau, The Bahamas. While the official academic day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., we are open by 7:30 a.m. to facilitate early drop-off. Students are also invited to take part in daily after school activities including homework help; BJC, BGCSE, and SAT classes; or clubs such as art, gaming, music, drama, chess, or student council. Our afternoon classes are offered at no additional charge for Boost students, but are open to students from other schools for a fee.

Supporting Educational, Social and Emotional Needs:

Boost Academy students have one-on-one or small group time with tutors throughout the week, and may also schedule time to speak with a trained counselor or life coach. Students receive support for any issues they may be facing, whether academic, social, or emotional. All students will take part in weekly guidance sessions as part of their regular schedule.

Curriculum:

We use a combination of U.S. based, Bahamian, and a customised Boost curriculum to ensure students are prepared to live in a global economy. We are also committed to teaching concepts most adults wish they had learned in school, including: conflict resolution; The Bahamian Constitution; The Universal Declaration of Human Rights; Personal Finance Management; Psychology, and Entrepreneurship. We have also introduced art, music, drama, foreign language, blockchain, coding, and cryptocurrency electives!
